Transparencyreporting recently emailed both Kate and Laura from the Los Angeles Times, about some concerns regarding their two articles...Since I found it to be "ironic" that they both wrote the articles on two diffe...rent dates, but failed to make the connection.
As you read my email below, it is clear that there is indeed a "DARK SIDE" to transgender beauty pageants that most contestants are blind-sided in winning the CROWN and TITLE! But at what cost? Do you know that there are no health insurances that'll medically cover the removal of silicone injected? Do you know who pays for a person administered in the emergency room for severe health complications due to silicone? Of course, the taxpayers like you and myself pay the bill.......Therefore, as taxpayers we have the right to demand that any transgender pageant needs to be regulated and that organizers need to be held accountable for any contestant in need of medical care (due to silicone injections) 3 months prior and 1 year after the event......

"Feminism in an unlikely place — a transgender beauty pageant"
Ranking women on their looks seems like a step back for feminism. But for Los Angeles' transgender community, pageants can be a sign of progress.

"As demand for illegal silicone injections grows, so do deaths"
People seeking bigger buttocks often end up at illegal 'pumping parties' with unsanitary – and sometimes fatal – injections of industrial-grade silicone.

Dear Kate and Laura,
What I find interesting about these two articles that were published by the Los Angeles Times, is that the "dots" were never connected...What I mean by that, is that "Silicone Parties" are quite predominant within the "Transgender Pageants" here is Los Angeles.... There is a "DARK SIDE" that is never out in the open due to fear of compromising the pageant organizer's integrity.
Many of the transgender contestants go to the extreme of altering their body images to the point of seeking those silicone parties. Which are organized within the transgender community and its a "hush-hush" kind of thing. But in reality, many of them end up in emergency rooms with health complications related to their body rejecting foreign chemicals that are considered illegal....
As a transgender woman of color, and someone who has been at the fore-front of transgender rights, since 1970. It would be important that if someone is doing a report/article to assure that the story in non-evasive to the main issue which is transgender beauty pageant contestants risking their lives....
As we already know, that ObamaCare is the law of the United States. But also, many transgender women doesn't have access to healthcare due to their pre-existing conditions. So if they develop health complications due to the silicones more likely than not it would be challenging that they would find a doctor who would accept to treat them.... And that, is a major concern not only for taxpayers but also for the well-being of the transgender community......
The "Dark Side" of Los Angeles Transgender Pageants is the underground black-market of Silicone.
I am hoping that as journalist, you'll take up the task and follow-up with my email
